I am an interdisciplinary artist, researcher and art historian, as well as a curator. My work focuses on the relationships between esotericism, everyday life and pop culture. I seek contemporary manifestations of concepts at the intersection of magic, science and pseudoscience, incorporating autobiographical elements or blending fiction with fact in my projects. Through assuming different roles, I explore the figure of the woman as a medium, spiritualist, fortune teller, or witch. I am an interdisciplinary artist, researcher and art historian, as well as a curator. I am an anthropologist and visual artist, a graduate of Painting at Concordia University in Montreal (2016). I also hold a Master's degree in Anthropology from the University of Leipzig (2022). Since 2024, I have been a doctoral student at the Max Planck Institute for Anthropology in Halle. As a researcher, I examine grassroots art worlds, particularly those at the intersection of experimental economics and political engagement, as well as through customs and materiality, which constitute emerging ways of being and belonging. My doctoral thesis is based on a collaborative analysis of artist-run spaces in Warsaw. 

We are applying for the programme because the residency encourages reflection. This is an important stage in the artistic process that often lacks time and support because the focus is mainly on the final product. 

As part of the residency, I would like to explore ways of creating non-fiction books that will enable me to support myself.

During my residency, I would like to address the question of how we can live in the present moment in an uncertain artistic environment when we cannot fully immerse ourselves in creative activity because we have to keep in mind the need to secure future projects.

As part of my residency, I would like to consider how resilience, in the context of the adaptive strategies employed by dogs and their daily caregivers, can inform my creative process.

I applied for the residency to take a closer look at my body, which is my greatest resource for creative and social work. My aim is to strengthen it so that I can consciously choose the cultural disciplines in which I wish to participate and to whom I wish to devote my attention and energy.

Through my art, I address topics that are often overlooked in the queer community. People who struggle with these issues often feel alone and do not talk about them.

During my residency, I would like to focus on planning my development as a creativity mentor, including finding the right term for it, outlining goals, testing methods and identifying the needs of the environment. 

I understand resilience as the ability to adapt and regenerate, to reflect and remain in uncertainty, in a state of being "in-between", of anticipation, of "not now", of "not here", of "maybe". Privately and professionally, I find myself in many areas "in between".

I am a researcher, writer and human rights activist focused on language, culture and the situation of the Uyghur people, who face persecution by the Chinese authorities. I hold a PhD in Turkology from Hacettepe University in Turkey, where I defended a thesis on Uyghur manuscripts from the Gunnar Jarring Collection in Sweden. Between 2019 and 2023, I taught Uyghur at the Department of Modern Turkic Languages and Literatures at Hacettepe University.

I work at the intersection of aesthetics and activism as a curator, producer, and performance artist.

After some years as an actor in german theater, I studied dance and choreography at the European Dance Development Center (EDDC) in the art academy in Arnhem/NL. I worked as dancer and choreographic assistant for Yoshiko Chuma (New York) and Mark Tompkins (Paris).

I am a graduate of the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and a scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. Before the birth of my firstborn son, I participated in group and individual exhibitions, including “Best Diplomas of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk” (2017), “Mothers of Independence” (2020), and “Artistic Universe” (2020). I was also a finalist in the “7th Review of Young Art Fresh Blood” organised by the Socato Art Gallery in Wrocław (2018). I am the initiator of the collective Artist Mothers and the author of its visual identity. Since 2017, I have been running Oki Oki Studio alongside Ola Olszewska, where we complete graphic design projects for cultural institutions and cultural events together. We are active members of the Association of Applied Graphic Designers (STGU). We are authors of, among others, the visual identity of the celebrations of the 18th anniversary of the Museum of Modern Art (MSN) and the “Warsaw under construction. How to make a school?” (2021) project developed for the same museum. We were nominated in the Most Beautiful Book of the Year competition of the Polish Society of Book Publishers (2018 and 2021). We authored this year’s visual identity of the National Grant Programme Artistic Journey of Hestia (2024/2025).

I am a researcher and a person curious of multicultural processes taking place in the near and far world. I have been living in Warsaw for more than seven years, where I moved from Minsk in Belarus, as I call my birthplace.

In collaboration with the WOK, I am conducting a research project “Language as a key to active cultural participation. A municipal programme for the inclusion of people with refugee and migrant experience (needs, conclusions, proposals)”. I combine language tuition with cultural education.

I am a PhD student researching safe cultural spaces for queer individuals with migration and/or refugee experiences in collaboration with the WOK. I am currently researching queer performances existing in the Polish club scene, focusing on ballroom and drag culture.

I am a psychologist and a PhD student at UW. In collaboration with WOK, I am conducting a research project on strategies to improve the psychological well-being of Warsaw residents through the creation of place attachment and the use of pro-social places.

I am a theatre director, and I also direct radio plays. I graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy and Sociology at the University of Warsaw and from the Faculty of Drama Direction at the National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw.

I am a curator and art historian. I have been the Director of the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw since 2007.

The subject of my PhD dissertation is care work and I study the work experience of caregivers of older people. During the analysis I realised that the scientific knowledge production did not allow me to work with the emotional dimension of the collected material and with my own emotions.

During the residency, I want to reflect on a new format for my writing. I want to visit places that are important to this story. The trips would allow me to go beyond the context in which I function daily (as a parent/husband/researcher) and look at this history and myself differently (as a Pole-Ukrainian/Ukrainian-Polish).

As I am involved in the MOST Co-operative Farm, I want to rethink my function/mission and implement it consistently.

Research and aid work on the humanitarian crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border led me to seek additional means of expression, and I took up painting. During the residency I would like to explore this and try to identify and understand what I need.

As part of my residency at WOK, I would like to research the intersection of disability, art and accessibility in the Polish context.

As part of the residency, we want to use the work on Anouk Herman’s poetry collection as an opportunity to develop a sustainable and viable operation strategy at a time when the scope of our endeavours continues to grow.

I am a yoga teacher, DJ, zinester, promoter and activist. I am one of the co-founder of Girls and Queers to the Front (@girlsandqueerstothefront), an initiative that has been operating in Warsaw since 2015 and focuses on creating a supportive space for girls and queer people through publishing zines, poetry books and short prose forms, organising concerts, workshops, exhibitions, performances and book readings. I hold an MSc in Data Analytics – Big Data. Although science will always be close to my heart, thanks in part to GQTTF, I have learnt to keep trying new things with more confidence. I found my true passion in teaching yoga, exploring various forms of conscious movement and training in Contemporary Thai Massage. In yoga, I continue my desire to create safer spaces and operate in a queer community, which is why I created the Queer Yoga (@queeryoga.co.uk) series of classes and workshops in 2021.

I am a researcher, PhD in Cultural Studies, zinester, editor and activist. I teach at the Center for American Studies at the University of Warsaw and am a member of the Gender/Sexuality Lab. I co-founded the Girls and Queers to the Front (@girlsandqueerstothefront) initiative, operating in Warsaw since 2015 and focusing on creating a nurturing space for girls and queer people by publishing zines, poetry books and short prose forms, organising concerts, workshops, exhibitions, performances and book readings. Together with Katarzyna Szenajch, I co-created the 100lesb.com project and exhibition. I am the recipient of a Fulbright grant, a National Science Centre grant and an art grant from the City of Warsaw. My interests include queer theory, autobiographical narratives, girl as an identity category, DIY (Do It Yourself, do it yourself) practices and the notion of failure in theory and practice. I write short stories and play bass in a band called NANA.

I am a poet, editor and author of the poetry collection Przejścia (Old Town Cultural Centre, 2020) and the novel Strużki (Cyranka, 2023). I have been published in Dwutygodnik, Mały Format, Wizje and Pismo magazines, among others. I am a co-founder of the Girls and Queers to the Front initiative and I live in Warsaw.

I applied for the residency out of a need to look at myself from a distance. I dream of working towards change. My daily childcare responsibilities bring a routine, a pyramid of obligations built on a sense of responsibility for the health and safety of my little ones. I wonder how this can be balanced – being there for my children, but also for myself.

I want to use the residency as an opportunity to rest after almost a year of precarious work on a show, and also I want to work on my professional development plan for future work in Poland and my studies, which I would like to continue.

As part of the WOK residency, we are undertaking process-oriented activities, aiming to use time and space to reflect on the future of the collective, its actions, values and structure.

I am a graduate of the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. I also graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration and the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Warsaw. I work in the cultural sector, previously at the Propaganda contemporary art gallery in Warsaw. I worked on the Warsaw Gallery Week project and as an assistant curator during the Datament exhibition in the Polish Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale. I coordinate cultural projects for, among others, the Culture Office of the City of Warsaw and Dwutygodnik magazine. I organise independent exhibition projects (most recently Very Changeable during Fringe Warsaw 2023), write curatorial texts and conduct interviews with artists. I am the initiator of the “Artist Mothers” project and one of the founders of the occasional zine publication Stopka. I acquired my knowledge of community art at the Open Institute.

In 2021 I graduated from the Illustration Studio of Grażka Lange (Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw) with a degree in Graphic Design. My MA thesis was about the first year of motherhood in the form of an illustrated book, which  alongside the theoretical work entitled ART, MATTERS AND THE ART OF MOTHERS is a record of an attempt to incorporate motherhood into the identity of the female artist. My work has been shown in the following exhibitions: Mothers of Independence (2020) and 100x40 (2019) organised as part of the International Poster Biennale, Young Art, DESA Unicum (2018, 2020 and 2023) and International Art Fair Warsaw (2017), and last year in KONTEKSTY (2023) as part of the “ARTIST AS A PROFESSIONAL” project organised by the ING Art Foundation.

A long-time Director of the M HKA, or the Contemporary Art Museum in Antwerp, chairman of the Museum Watch programme and co-author of the "Governance Management Project".

I am a graduate of human resources management, and at WOK, I manage human resources and payroll.

I design visuals for the Warsaw Observatory of Culture. I am the designer behind the winning visual identity of WOK. I am responsible for WOK printed and digital materials' appearance, consistency, and user experience. Part of my role involves minimising paper and energy waste.

I have been a permanent fixture at the Scena Prezentacje Theatre since 1981. At the Warsaw Observatory of Culture, I am a specialist for technical issues.

I am a curator and cultural manager, currently associated with the Warsaw Observatory of Culture. I am interested in international interdisciplinary projects and in processes where art and culture form an essential part of the dynamically changing societies of the future.

I develop communication strategies, branding, and PR of culture. I am good at crisis management and leading change. I write, edit, Speak in front of an audience, manage projects, coordinate promotional campaigns, share knowledge and my experience. I connect the dots in processes at the intersection of art, education, promotion and sustainability.

I used to be a tax advisor, but today I find myself primarily focused on observing and engaging with culture.

At the Warsaw Observatory of Culture, I am primarily responsible for HR issues and coordination of accessibility. I feel most confident in administration and management, and particularly enjoy processing data in my beloved Excel tables.

I joined the team in December 2022 as Deputy Director. I currently work as a Acting Director at WOK. Throughout my career, I worked on projects blending education, culture and applied sociology for several institutions, including NGOs, universities and museums and galleries.

I bring the experience gained in diverse places across Europe to WOK.

I work as a Project Manager at the Warsaw Observatory of Culture. My experience lies in designing and coordinating highly dynamic and changeable processes, working with diverse organisational cultures, and building interdisciplinary project teams.
