Introduction

The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to properly inform you about matters relating to the processing of your personal data, as well as rules of storing and accessing information on user’s devices through cookie files performed by Warsaw Observatory of Culture especially in the light of data protection legislation, including the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016.

Warsaw Observatory of Culture is a local government artistic institution registered in the Register of Cultural Institutions of the Capital City of Warsaw under the number RIA/166/91.

Personal data protection

Personal data are protected in accordance with current provisions of the law (Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, as well as Polish regulations within the relevant scope, including particularly the Polish Personal Data Protection Act.) Data are stored on secure servers. Personal data submitted in the forms are treated as confidential and they are not visible to unauthorised persons.

Personal data will be stored until the website operation is concluded. The user has the right to demand from the Controller access to their personal data, the right to their amendment, removal, or limiting their processing, the right to transfer data, and the right to file a complaint with the supervisory authority relevant for the matters concerning personal data protection. The submission of personal data is voluntary; however, it may be necessary to use some of the website’s resources.

In Poland, the supervisory authority is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (PUODO). If you decide that your data are improperly processed and it violates the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to file a complaint.

Assigning Personal Data Processing

The recipients of the personal data will be entities authorized to receive them under the provisions of law, or authorised based on consent expressed by the user.

Cookies

Warsaw Observatory of Culture informs that it uses cookie files on its website. Cookie files constitute IT data, in particular text files, stored on the terminal equipment of the website user, for the purpose of navigating the Warsaw Observatory of Culture website. Cookies usually contain the name of the website from which they originate, the duration of storage on the terminal equipment and a unique number. These files are saved to the user’s device through a web browser when they use the website. Thanks to these saved files, whenever the user connects to a given website again, the site can ascertain that the user has already visited it, and it can adjust its content to the user.

Warsaw Observatory of Culture uses cookies for the following purposes:

  • adjusting site content to the preferences of a given user, and for the optimization of the use of the website – in particular, these files enable recognising the website user’s device and properly adjust it to their individual needs;
  • creating statistics which help understand how users use the website, which enables improving its structure and contents;
  • enabling communication with social media platforms.

Two basic types or cookies are used: session cookies and persistent cookies. Session cookies are temporary files which are stored on the user’s terminal device until they leave the website, or shut down their software (web browser). Persistent cookies are stored on the user’s terminal device for a time determined in the cookie parameters or until the user removes them.

The website uses the following types of cookies:

  • “essential” – files which enable using services available on the website;
  • cookies that provide security;
  • “efficiency” – files that enable collecting information about the way in which the website is used;
  • “functional” – files that enable “remembering” user’s selected preferences and customising the interface.

Using the website without changing the settings concerning cookies amounts to expressing consent to saving these files in the memory of the device through which the user visits the site. With each subsequent connection to the Warsaw Observatory of Culture website on a device which the user had previously used to access the Warsaw Observatory of Culture website, they can access previously saved cookie files. Changes in these settings can be made by accessing the settings menu of the Internet browser, or by configuring the service. These settings can be changed in particular in such a way as to block automatic enabling of cookies in web browser settings, or inform about each instance of saving cookie files to the device. Cookie files saved to the user’s terminal device can also be used by advertisers and partners working with Warsaw Observatory of Culture.

Newsletter

Newsletter is used by Warsaw Observatory of Culture for regular communication with users, service recipients, informing them about news, changes, and events. In the contact form for the Newsletter, users’ personal data in the form of an e-mail address are processed. Personal data in electronic form are stored in databases to which only authorised persons have access.

Contact form (e.g. participant registration)

Contact form is used by Warsaw Observatory of Culture to communicate with users about registration, applications for participation in events, meetings, etc., organised by Warsaw Observatory of Culture. In the contact form, users’ personal data and e-mail addresses are processed. Personal data in electronic form are stored in databases to which only authorised persons have access.

Analysis of statistics

The website collects anonymous data concerning visited sites. These data are used exclusively for the statistical analysis of traffic on the website, e.g. determining the popularity of particular parts of the website. Apart from our own statistics, we use the services of Google Analytics, and Facebook Pixel – that collect anonymous information about the visited pages of our website. Changes to Privacy Policy

Warsaw Observatory of Culture is obliged to review this Privacy Policy regularly and change it if it turns out to be necessary or desired due to: new regulations, new guidelines issued by bodies responsible for the supervision of personal data protection processes, best practices in the area of personal data protection. Warsaw Observatory of Culture also reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy in case of changes in technology used to process personal data (in case such a change affects the wording of this document), as well as in case of changing methods, purposes, or legal grounds of our processing of personal data.
