Pickle Bar

Is a place to explore loose languages, the limits of language both as affect and discourse. Located a few steps from the Slavs and Tatars studio in the Moabit district of Berlin, Pickle Bar offers a variety of fermented foods and drinks and a space overlooking the street, with large windows allowing visibility to passersby, neighbours and colleagues. The condensing diversity of Moabit, with its micro-communities of Lebanese Shiites, West Africans, Turks and Eastern Europeans (mainly Ukrainian, Polish and Russian), is unique in Berlin, and Pickle Bar’s public programme, like its artistic activities, engages with this diversity.
