Cultural Warsaw: a personal perspective

You probably often hear that culture means museums, theatres, opera and concerts. However, culture is also something that happens every day – through your hobbies, classes, and hanging out. It also happens, when you create and develop your passions, read, watch or listen to something, go to events or spend time with others doing what you enjoy.

Each of these activities has its place: a classroom, stage, cinema, library, cultural centre, park or some other space important to you. This is where your cultural Warsaw takes shape!

Show us your Warsaw – take one to three photos of your chosen place and share your story: what you do there, who you go with, and why it matters to you.

You can write your story (up to 3,000 characters) or record an audio file (up to 5 minutes long). The choice is yours!

If you’re in grade 4—8 at a primary school in Warsaw, this competition is for you!

You can submit more than one entry if you have other important activities and places you’d like to tell us about.

Five prizes worth PLN 600 each.

Ten special mentions worth PLN 200 each.

We will display the winning entries at the competition exhibition!

Submit your entry in by 17 May 2026.

1. Familiarise yourself with the COMPETITION REGULATIONS.
2. Download, fill out and sign the following documents: Entry form (Appendix no. 1 to the Regulations), Parental/Guardian consent and declaration forms (Appendix no. 2 to the Regulations).
3. Scan your completed and signed documents.
4. Submit your completed documents (Appendices 1 and 2), photos of your chosen location, and your description or recording to: konkurs@wok.art.pl. Include your full name in the filename or subject line.
