Paweł Sawicki
I am not just a reportage photographer, but also a dedicated cultural and social activist. I was born in Stowbtsy in Belarus, and in 2022, for political reasons, I made the difficult decision to relocate to Warsaw. My passion for photography began in 2015. While I initially focused on commercial photography, I also delved into documenting the cultural, social, and political life in Stowbtsy. I worked with Pozirk, Svmerki group and Słuszna Strawa collective, contributing my skills and perspective to their projects. In addition to my photography work, I actively engage as a cultural activist. I have organised impactful screenings of documentaries as part of WatchDocs Belarus, delivered lectures, and facilitated photography meetups.
In 2023, I joined FSH1, where I channel my efforts towards fostering stronger connections within the Belarusian photography community. My role involves organising events that not only bring together talented Belarusian photographers but also facilitate integration and collaboration with their Polish counterparts. Through these initiatives, we strive to create a dynamic platform that encourages cultural exchange and artistic growth.
