The Committee, composed of Anna Bieliz, Prot Jarnuszkiewicz, Łucja Krzyżanowska, Paweł Sztarbowski, and Maryna Tomaszewska, would like to thank all the applicants for their submissions. WOK presented us with the important andchallenging task of selecting just a few of the many amazing ideas. We were deeply moved by the sincerity and seriousness of your applications.

Each application was read by all the members of the committee, who then had to select 20 applications each. On March 17, we met to discuss and review the selected candidates. The full list of applications selected by the committee consisted of a total of 61 submissions. The selection was difficult, as the applicants demonstrated a high level of competence and insight into the theme of this year’s residency. Many applications addressed important issues, such as burnout, mental health, and the experience of migration, which we believe are significant topics. We noticed that a large number of creative and research-oriented individuals with valuable ideas applied, but a significant portion of the submissions focused on project implementation. It is important to note that the goal of this program is not the creation of specific works or projects.
We wanted to ensure that the selection of participants was as diverse and fair as possible in terms of cultural, ethnic, and age representation, as well as the range of media and disciplines. We highlighted submissions that suggested their authors will be able to develop and transform their artistic, research, and organisational practices through the residency. Applications selected showed a strong transformational potential, elements of self-care, and a willingness to tackle and propose new themes, as well as those that demonstrated a desire to break out of established patterns.
We will be contacting the individuals invited to the next stage individually. Interviews will take place via the Zoom platform.
