Izabela Lassota

I am a psychologist and a PhD student at UW. In collaboration with WOK, I am conducting a research project on strategies to improve the psychological well-being of Warsaw residents through the creation of place attachment and the use of pro-social places.

I am a psychologist, a PhD student in the Department of Psychology at the University of Warsaw (UW) and a scholar of the National Science Centre. In my research I focus on combining clinical, social and environmental psychology perspectives. My main research interest, as well as the topic of my PhD, is the impact of the environment, both virtual and real, on psychological well-being, especially considering protective factors such as place attachment and interpersonal attachment.

The aim of this project is to examine how pro-social places can influence the psychological well-being of Warsaw residents by strengthening their attachment to their place of residence. Using quantitative and qualitative methods, I am investigating how these places support attachment, reduce stress and anxiety levels, and promote social integration. The results of the project will form the basis for the creation of intervention programmes aimed at improving the psychological well-being of both people with migration experience living in Warsaw and native Warsaw residents.
