Łukasz Wójcicki
I am a performer, dancer, choreographer, counterculture animator, researcher, and playwright. I graduated from the 3rd Gardzienice Academy of Theatre Practices, a two-year experimental choreography course of the Centre in Movement and the IC School for a New Dance Development of the Academy of Theatre and Dance at the Amsterdam University of the Arts. My field of interest is the politicity of the body, social choreography, the deconstruction of privilege, patriarchy and normativity. I explore new forms of presence in the context of environmental catastrophe, crisis of capitalism, and decolonisation. From 2008 to 2018, I worked as a performer and dancer in the ensemble Komuna Warszawa, and from 2013 to 2016, I performed and was the assistant director in the performance RequieMaszyna by Marta Górnicka and the Chorus of Women. Since 2016, I have been involved in the social-artistic activities of the Strefa WolnoSłowa foundation as a performer and choreographer.
I am the winner of the Europe Beyond Access programme “Dance and Disability. Crossing Boundaries” (2020), Visegrad Artist Residency Program – Performing Arts (2021) and an artistic scholarship from the City of Warsaw (2022). Since 2019, I have collaborated with the Theatre and Social Laboratory of the Association of Theatre Pedagogues. I am currently doing a one-year course in documentary theatre “Non-fiction Theatr at the Grotowski Institute in Wrocław. I am also a laureate of the New Drama Scene programme held by the Siemaszkowa Theatre in Rzeszów.
