Katarzyna Belczyk produced a series of drawings during the rehearsals for the List of Shortcomings presented at WOK. The works inspire reflection on the cultural sector as a working environment.
A drawing of weeping figures sums up the ironic statement: “Instead of fulfilling dreams with someone, it is more valuable to lose them together”. Another shows that even leadership positions do not protect you from negative side effects and seems to illustrate the saying “you cannot see how lonely it is at the top from the ground”. It’s a humorous yet bitter reflection on the fact that working in cultural institutions, while allowing you to be involved in social development, also has consequences for your physical and mental health.
