Communicating with Flow. A Workshop-Laboratory with Rivca Rubin

A two-day invitation to the verbally tangled, the relationally curious, and the communally ambitious. Whether you move with your body, your words, or your eyebrows—you’re welcome. Open to all, including those outside the dance world and the young people who may well be the wisest in the room.

13 & 14 September 2025 | 9:30 AM–5:30 PM | WOK.lab, Marszałkowska 34/50, Warsaw

Why we’re gathering:
Because while speaking is easy, connecting—really connecting—is a whole other choreography.

We’ll explore what helps communication flow freely, and what clogs it up with superiority, defensiveness, or performative compromise. We’ll examine how even well-meaning words can cause harm, and how slight shifts in how we speak and listen can lead to seismic changes in our lives, work, and collaborations.

What we’ll do:

  • Unpack everyday language habits as though they’re carry-on baggage with hidden explosives.
  • Practise ways of speaking that don’t rank, shame, or shut down.
  • Co-create agreements that stand the test of time.
  • Learn from the cross-pollination of choreographic thinking, conflict navigation, and linguistic rebellion.
  • Tune into what wasn’t said and what might be waiting to be noticed.
  • Discover how generous attention can stretch time, space and possibility.
  • Apply Upwording to notice, question and rewire the language loops that keep us stuck.

No performance required. Bring your questions, your contradictions, and a willingness to play with the script.

Some things may click. Some may unravel. Both are welcome.

There will also be a decent lunch break, short breathers and an early start (while the inner critic is still fumbling for coffee).

Led by: Rivca Rubin, Upwording instigator, full-time language liberation enthusiast, and choreographer of conversations that zigzag with intention.
