The Warsaw Observatory of Culture (WOK) has completed the call for the third edition of the WOK Artistic and Research Residencies programme in 2025. After seventeen interviews during the second stage of the call, the committee, consisting of Anna Bieliz, Prot Jarnuszkiewicz, Łucja Krzyżanowska, Maryna Tomaszewska and Paweł Sztarbowski, invited the following ten people, who received the highest scores, to join the 2025 programme:

From the PISA 2000 report and Joanna Dobkowska’s article featured in the publication, we learn that “reading for pleasure has a greater impact on children's future than their economic status.” New technologies, enormous social pressure, ubiquitous short forms and instant gratification – these constitute the revolutionary nature of changes in the lives and development of children and young adults. The digital revolution, although increasingly transparent, should not disappear from the radar of contemporary culture researchers. It is through the lens of the digital revolution that we see scenarios that will help books find their place in a world of constant change.

WOK presented us with the important andchallenging task of selecting just a few of the many amazing ideas. We were deeply moved by the sincerity and seriousness of your applications.

On the 16th and 17th of September 2023 at the WOK Lab we invited actors and actresses to take part in a workshop led by Agnieszka Glińska and Weronika Pelczyńska. During the workshop, we looked for tools and methods for inner stabilisation and stimulation.

The Warsaw Observatory of Culture (WOK) is the thematic partner of the 5th edition of the Municipal Scholarship Programme. The aim of the programme, which supports doctoral students from all over Poland, is to deepen our understanding of the processes and challenges facing the changing Warsaw and its inhabitants, and to use this knowledge in the development of municipal policies.

Experience the world of virtual reality and generative digital environments at the Warsaw Observatory of Culture (WOK) during the Reality Bender graduation project exhibition. The exhibition was feature the latest graduation projects from the 3D and Virtual Events Studio II, part of the Media Arts Department at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts.
